My idea is to create a group game that sets people into two groups (red || blue) fighting for a bigger area on the canvas.
At the beginning of the game, all players will be randomly pushed into the red or blue team and enter their names. As all players click ready, the game will start.
There is a 1-minute timer that will stop the game. In this one minute, the group members can click on the untaken pixels and paint that pixel as their team colors. The result will pop up at the end.
I got my inspiration from /r/place and the mouse sharing and manipulation we did in class.
The reason why I want to make this project is that I appreciate the co-op games. During the pandemic, the co-op games help my friends and me maintain our relationships. Although we are far away from each other, playing co-op games and fighting as a team make us feel like we are together once again. It was a precious experience. I am so into these live co-op games that I hope I can make a really simple one. Playing with friends or strangers as a team and build up friendships.
For future development, I am thinking about making the game more complicated and playful. Instead of clicking the canvas to paint, the users might need to do some typing to occupy a pixel. I am also thinking about changing it to something like the game of go. If one color surrounds the other color, the enclosed part will be taken. And adding some animations will be a cool idea.
